Void.

I’m feeling really weird. I don’t know why. Well, actually, I guess I do. This is the first September in 21 years that I’m not either returning to school, or working on an application for school, and thus inevitably thinking about returning to school. I am done with school. Fully. Completely (to quote the Hip.)

I don’t know why I’m upset. But I am. I’m feeling really, really nostalgic.

I want to crawl back into my sweatpants and a stained white hoodie, and my Adidas and my red chicken hat I love so dearly, and sit with a coffee and a mile high pile of books at a computer, and complain about my work load, and how I hate writing pooy poo filed essays.

I want to go to bed at night knowing I can't afford to sleep in, and doing it anyway, and wake up feeling guilty; rushing to school to find you’ve done the same thing, where we’ll laugh about it, and talk and procrastinate for another 30 minutes.

I hate that I was in such a rush to finish it all. And now I feel like a dork for saying it.

Don't feel like a dork! I still went back-to-school shopping this year, even though I'm not going back to school. There's something about wearing a brand new outfit when that first bite of fall is in the air that I crave.

Hey Chickita,

I know exactly how you feel. I finished up on Friday, (yeah, just a few days ago). The new 2nd years were gearing up for the orientation and excited about meeting the newbies, and I felt kind of disconnected and left out. Really weird. I am going back one more time for a meeting and lunch. At which time I have to return my key, (no... I want to keep it, it's like a security blanket!)

Anyway, like Michelle I have been shopping, but for trekking clothes :-)

Two weeks and counting.

Hee hee hee. When I first read it, I thought it said "Trekkie clothes." Too funny.
